According to Greek mythology, Minthi was a beautiful nymph of a mountain in southwestern Greece, near Olympia. God of Hades, Pluto, fell in love with her. His wife, Persephone, got jealous and complained to her mother, goddess Demeter and she transformed Minthi into a herb.
